God has powerfully and permanently impacted our lives with His grace and truth He has given us in His Son, and we see that clearly in the Golden Chain. Everything He has orchestrated or allowed from the creation of man to the return of Jesus - everything in the lives of His people - is to fulfill the incredible truth of the Golden Chain. Understanding that is to then impact how we live our lives while still in this fallen world. These things should impact the frame of mind - the condition of heart - the wellness of soul - in which we live in this fallen world. Therefore, in response to these things, we will now look at their impact in this final message.

The effect of Christ's resurrection and the end of Christ's redemptive work is the glorification of fallen man. As we think about Christ's redemption and resurrection - what they mean for us - we must think higher than just being saved from hell and going to heaven, and higher than just being alive forever. There are things God is going to do with us that defy imagination, but He has given us a glimpse of them in His Word. And we are going to get a Christ-centered, Christ-exalting glimpse of the glimpse as we come to the fifth and final unbreakable link in the Golden Chain of God's sovereign saving grace: that God has glorified us.

The problem with all extra-biblical and unbiblical views of salvation is that they do not solve the problem of how guilty sinners cannot save themselves after sinning against a holy God, or how a holy God can lovingly save sinners without violating His own holiness and justice. However, God has solved both of those problems in His grace and gospel, and we will see how in this message. So, we come to the fourth unbreakable link in the Golden Chain of God's sovereign saving grace: that He has justified us.

Why does anyone ever come to Christ? Why does a sinner suddenly turn from his or her sin to be saved? Why does the rebel repent to be redeemed? In John 3:16, we see from Jesus the truth that in God's love, whoever believes - from any race, class, or gender - anyone anywhere in the world - whoever believes in God's Son will be saved. But while affirming the truth of "whoever will", we must ask and answer the question of why anyone ever will, when in the Scriptures God gives us a clear picture of fallen man's anti-God depravity.​ The overarching answer is in the third unbreakable link in the Golden Chain of God's sovereign saving grace: that He has called us.

The key difference between Christians and the rest of the world is that we no longer consider ourselves the masters of our own fates and the captains of our own destinies, because Jesus Christ is now our Master and Captain. However, even many Christians struggle with the idea that not only does God tell us what to decide, but He also has already decided for us. Many true Christians chafe at the idea of predestination, as it applies to decisions we must make regarding both our earthly and eternal destinies. We all know that God predestined us to be born. Where the friction starts is on whether God predestined us to be born again. We come now to the second unbreakable link in the Golden Chain of God's sovereign saving grace: that He has predestined us.

In the Golden Chain of God's sovereign saving grace, the Apostle Paul gives us a glorious snapshot of God's sovereign will and work to set apart, save, and fully sanctify us for Himself. From before the foundation of the world, God has anchored us to Himself with the five unbreakable links of the Golden Chain. No one that has ever truly been saved will ever be lost, because our salvation is not at all our doing, but all God's doing, from foreknowing us in His mind in eternity past to finally glorifying us in His might in eternity future.​ In this message, we focus on the first unbreakable link in the Golden Chain: that God has foreknown us.

What is God doing with triumph and tragedy - with prosperity and suffering - with good people and bad people - with good nations and bad nations - with good things and bad things? We cannot know all of the specifics of what God is doing with all things, but we must know what we can know. So, the Apostle Paul tells us what we do know God is doing with all things, and for whom God is doing this, in the direct connection between His sovereignty over all things, and His salvation of all His people.

In multiple passages of Scripture, God gives the assurance that sinners will respond to His gospel and will be fully and finally saved because He sovereignly anchors them to Himself. One of those passages is Romans 8:28-30, and we are going to spend some time here climbing the glorious heights of what God reveals about His sovereignty over all things in the lives of His people, as well as His sovereignty in securing the eternal life of His people. This truth is foundational to our understanding of what God is doing to accomplish and assure us of our salvation. This first message presses on the necessity of being able to say with Paul, "This is what we know about God."
