The Holy Spirit prompted Zechariah’s prophetic praise with the revelation of God’s deliverance of His people as a nation from all enemy nations. In looking at God’s people in contrast to all other people, Zechariah joyfully understood the scope of God’s redemptive work to consecrate, claim, and carve out a people for Himself.
